Highlights

Dr. Huang, graduated from China Medical Collage, Taiwan in 1979, had received a complete training of Neurologist in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Chang Gung University, Taiwan. With a specialist of Neurology and an expert in Occupational diseases, Chin-Chang Huang was nominated a permanent professorship in Chang Gung University, College of Medicine in 1997. Over the last 30 years, he has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles particularly in the occupational diseases such as heavy metal intoxication (manganese, mercury, thallium) and organic solvent poisoning (n-hexane, carbon disulfide) in the first 10 years and then he extend his interest to some rare diseases such as Wilson’s disease, mitochondrial disease, and Kennedy disease, myotonic muscular dystrophy in the following 10 years. In recent 10 years he has focused his interest to neuroimages and dementia syndrome, particularly in Alzheimer’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies and frontotemporal dementia. With his expertise in the hereditary neurological disease and neurodegenerative disease, he published some important SCI Journal papers and book chapters edited/reviewed for many academic journals. He continues to get research grants from National Science Council and Department of Health, Taiwan R.O.C. for many years and is also involved in many international collaborative studies in drug trails for disease of Alzheimer disease and Parkinson’s disease. As a pioneer in the occupational diseases and senior neurologist in Taiwan, his famous work included, manganese induced Parkinsonism, DAT scan such as TRODAT-1 scan in idiopathic PD and manganism, neuroimages study in Parkinsonism, mitochondrial disease and Alzheimer’s disease and dementia syndromes.

In recent 5 years, Dr Huang devoted himself to study the neuroimages of dementia such as 18F-AV-45 Amyloid PET, 18F-THK-5351 tau PET, and 18F-PM-PBB3 tau PET for Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. He also published some important articles including familial Alzheimer’s disease with Taiwan specific D678H amyloid precursor protein (APP) mutation.
