1. Dr. Hsien-Yuan Lane has obtained 2018 Award for Excellent Contributions in Technology Transfer of MOST, to highlight his distinguished contributions on using sodium benzoate to treat mild cognitive impairment and early-phase dementia. Dr. Lane has been awarded from MOST and gotten the media report.
2. Dr. Lane has obtained 2019 National Innovation Award (Diligence award), highlighting his distinguished contribution to novel therapy of dementia.
3. Our investigator-initiated trials have been leading globally in developing NMDA-related modulators. Taking our recent multi-center trial entitled “Sodium benzoate, a D-amino acid oxidase inhibitor, added to clozapine for the treatment of schizophrenia: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial”(Biological Psychiatry, IF: 12.095. Corresponding author: Dr. Lane) as an example, the Editor of Biological Psychiatry (Dr. Krystal, Director of department of psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine) prepared press release and the article was selected for cover image of the journal. Moreover, Dr. Lane was invited to be the Biological Psychiatry Guest Editor and received a framed cover as well as guest edited magazine. The trial has been reported widely worldwide.
4. Dr. Lane has obtained 2017 National Innovation Award, highlighting his distinguished contribution to novel therapy of dementia.
5. Dr. Lane has obtained 2016 CNS Drug Innovation Award of International College Neuropsychopharmacology, highlighting his distinguished contribution to the research and development of neuropsychiatric new drug. He was the only one obtained this award all over the world at that year.
